STEPS Preschool: Learning Through Play and Structure
STEPS (Specialized Training and Education for Preschool Students) is an early childhood education program designed to prepare preschoolers from underprivileged communities for formal schooling. A key part of the program is the active involvement of parents, making learning a shared journey between the classroom and the home.

Classroom Learning in Action
STEPS supports and enhances the education of underprivileged children while also imparting moral values and character formation. Through the dedication of trained teachers and the loving involvement of parents, children are guided in a structured yet nurturing learning environment.
Our program runs for 10 months, with daily classes held in small groups of up to 20 children. Keeping class sizes intentionally small allows us to individualize instruction and respond to each child’s unique needs and learning pace.

Parents as Partners in Education
Parents play a vital role in the STEPS program. Before classes begin, parents attend orientation seminars where they are introduced to the learning process and their role in supporting their child’s education at home. Teaching materials are provided to reinforce lessons beyond the classroom.

Milestones and graduation are joyful moments where growth, learning, and hope are celebrated. They remind us that with guidance, care, and encouragement, every child can move forward with confidence.

Growing Beyond Preschool
To further support learning beyond preschool, STEPS also offers STEPS Progressive and Phonics programs for lower elementary students. These courses help strengthen reading, writing, and comprehension skills, supporting children as they transition into the public school system.
Expanding STEPS
Since 2019, STEPS has gradually expanded beyond Bohol to several municipalities on the island of Samar, including Catarman, Calbayog, Tagapul-an, and more, and on Masbate island, allowing more children to benefit from early education.
