Although the restaurants, hotels and stores are open and our island has opened its doors to local tourism, the people have become poorer. Since Bohol is largely dependent on tourism, many people have lost their jobs and try to support their families with fishing and other odd jobs. Fortunately, Filipinos are a resilient people and very adaptable, which is a must in such a time!
But as we travel around the island, we can see the signs of poverty. That is why we continue to organize food donations with the help of the locals in these very poor regions of Bohol.
We are grateful for you who keep supporting these actions.
