The pilot project in Ubay, called “Coalition for Change in Education” was completed with success, and the 27 teachers of agriculture graduated last week on Wednesday, Aug.17, 2016, at the Pavilion of The Bellevue Resort. Here are a few pictures of the event:
The following days the officers of the Department of Education and Manny met to work on a new curriculum which includes the teachings of Manny and will be used to teach in agricultural high schools in Bohol. In the next few weeks everything will be put into practice in Ubay, where a piece of land was plowed and is now ready for planting. Whatever the agriculture teachers learned in this “Coalition for Change” pilot project, they will pass on to their pupils and their respective parents, which are mostly already farmers. The organic vegetables that will be grown are then sold in Panglao directly to the hotel and restaurant owners. (Click here if you want to read about the whole project, from beginning until end.)
