STEPS Teachers Seminars in Samar

August 16 - 19, Manny, Ellen, Stefan and our new volunteer Sebastian, went to Samar to train new teachers and volunteers the how-to of our STEPS preschool program. We had around 40 attendees, among them elementary grade teachers and volunteers! First seminar was in Calbayog on Saturday, 17th, and the second on Sunday, the 18th of August. We were happy to see the enthusiasm of the attendees and touched to see how eager they are to teach the children. There are still Barangays that don't have preschools or daycare centers, and we are thankful hat we can fill that need, at least in some places!
Thanks to several donors we were able to buy tables, chairs and sets of computer/monitor for 7 STEPS centers, and printers for some of them. If all goes well, we will have 3 Steps programs in Catarman, 3 in Calbayog, 5 in Tagapul-an, and 1 in San Jorge.
