On February 5 & 6, we held in our STEPS school in Panglao, a hands-on teachers' seminar for new STEPS teachers from the North of Samar. Amie, Isla and Analyn attended our head teacher Ellen's theoretical, and then hands-on practical training, together with teachers Grace and Joyjoy.
Samar is often exposed to severe weather conditions, such as typhoons, flooding etc, and is very poor. Having a STEPS program in the localities indicated (Catarman, Calbayog and the island Tagapul-an), is a step to a betterment of education and progress for the children. All the 3 localities are being equipped with computers, monitors and some with printers, laminators etc, that were given to us from several donors.
