Our Sports activity for the almost 50 children and their parents of our STEPS preschool started bright and early. After a good prayer for safety and for dry and cooler weather we heard a few keynote addresses from Manny and Eveline, after which some of the children and parents did some dances, sang songs or recited a poem. The children especially enjoyed the cuddly toys and snack prices given.
Teachers Ellen and Joyjoy had then prepared some fun science activities, such as volcano & geyser eruptions with colored water, vinegar and baking soda, and a coke bottle and mentos. The children and parents watched in awe as the "volcano" erupted and the coke spewed out like a hot geyser.
Then came the games! Sack-hopping, musical chair and rice-planting were great fun for everybody and required skill and coordination. As soon as the activities and games ended, the rain came, and hungry as we were, we went for the eating part.
