In spite of the heavy lock downs, a few STEPS programs were able to open up this year, and we even have a new program in Bukid in the North of Samar. One pastor with 8 volunteer teachers plus assistants is teaching 16 children how to read and write with our STEPS program! We were able to buy printers and computers with the help of local donors for this new preschool program, as well as for some other preschools where we previously shared printers. But with the lock down, travel proves more difficult, which makes it impossible to share tools. We are thankful that we have funds available for new materials for STEPS.
Below you see the teachers visiting the students one-on-one to help with the teaching and to assess the progress made. On the photo in the middle, you see parents showing their pledge to give their best in teaching their children.
