We are in the final stages of this year's STEPS program. Currently, we have 96 students in Bohol, 68 of whom are between 3-6 years old, and 28 7-13 years old!
We continue to visit each child weekly at home, where we help with lessons, and specifically with learning to read. We bring new modules each time, which the parents then work on with their children throughout the week. Unfortunately, they have far too little time for their children, which of course can be seen in their learning progress.
As you can see, we have 28 children who are already in elementary school and continue to have difficulty reading. This is unfortunately a big problem nationwide and will not improve with the schools closed for over a year!
