On December 18, our annual STEPS party was held for the preschoolers that are studying with us, and their families.
We had several prepared activities, such as dances, presentations of 3 and 4 year old STEPS students reading books 2 -7 of their "Early Bird" readers course, children reciting poems and Bible verses, parents sharing how thankful they are for the opportunity their children receive with the STEPS program, and a puppet show with the story of the first Christmas.
The highlight was when Santa entered the room with a big bag of selected toys for each of the STEPS children! Some of these children's families are so poor that they cannot afford to give presents to their children for Christmas, so you can imagine the joy on the faces of the children when they saw the beautiful toys they received! We ended the party with a potluck Lunch.
