We had a great guardian angel protecting Manny Jo! He was involved in a car accident on October 6. A Korean tourist crashed into him as he was coming out of a side street at high speed. Miraculously, Manny, who was driving on the main road going to Tagbilaran, was spared. He has no bumps or bruises, just a sore neck from the whiplash. Truly a miracle! The x-rays at the check-up prove that everything is OK, and he is healing slowly! (Psalm 91:11 For God will send his angels to protect you wherever you go).
But that was not the only miracle that took place during these days! The man who hit Manny had his whole family, his wife and three children, in the car when the accident happened, and none of them were injured either! In the days following the accident, we had several meetings with him at the police station, at the lawyer's office and at our home. He told us about his life and how he had not been a good husband to his wife or a good dentist to his patients.
As is our custom, we talked to him about God and how He works in our lives and prayed with him that He would also come into his life. He was so touched by the whole incident that he realized it must have been a miracle that had saved Manny, him and his family from harm. He decided to change his life from the ground up, to start over in his marriage, to become a better husband and a better dentist for his patients. He called the accident 'from tragedy to grace'! We are still in contact with him, almost daily, and we can see that the accident has brought a big change in his life.
